how do you filter out bad sellers from getting great buyers on block list? often times true bad buyers but also quite often seller was at fault with dispute. this looks great on surface but looks like there is also room for abuse right here. those sellers that block good buyers out of revenge is going to hurt sellers as much if not more than the buyers.
I take the time to verify that the buyer in question has received one or more bad feedback reports from a seller.
Buyers should have ample opportunity to address their complaints through eBay. Some options are: Filing a not as described report, bad feedback and complaints through Paypal.
Unfortunately eBay has removed feedback as an option for sellers. It is also worth noting that eBay makes no effort at all to filter negative feedback posted.

BAD BUYER BLACKLIST
ATTENTION eBay SELLERS: DUE TO CHANGES IN eBay's FEEDBACK POLICIES IT HAS BECOME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR SELLERS TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM UNWARRANTED NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. SINCE WE CAN NO LONGER WARN OTHER SELLERS ABOUT BAD BUYERS THROUGH FEEDBACK WE NEED TO TAKE A PROACTIVE APPROACH.
BLOCK BAD BUYERS BEFORE THEY CAN RUIN YOUR REPUTATION.
DO YOUR PART! POST THE EBAY MEMBER ID OF BAD BUYERS HERE FOR OTHER SELLERS TO SEE AND BLOCK THEM FROM BIDDING.

UPDATE 1/1/2010 Due to the eBay policy preventing negative feedback for bad buyer performance. Checking for negative feedback received by buyers is no longer an effective method for verifying posts here. I recommend that you use the tools available at: Toolhaus.org to check for negative feedback left by the buyer in question. You will often see that many of the buyers listed here have established a pattern of leaving multiple negative or neutral feedback ratings. Decide for yourself if you want to do business with them.
Google is also a very useful tool. You can do a Google search for a potential buyer's eBay ID. If the Google search brings you here you know someone has had a bad experience.
HOW TO BLOCK BAD BUYERS:
If you know that you don't want to sell to certain eBay members, you can put them on your blocked list. Members on that list will not be able to bid on any of your listings until you remove them from the list. You can block up to 5000 User IDs.
To add a member to your blocked list:
Go to the Blocking a bidder/buyer page.
Enter the User IDs of the eBay members you wish to block in the text box.
Click the Submit button.
CUT AND PASTE THE KNOWN BAD BUYERS LISTED BELOW AND PASTE THEM INTO THE : Blocked Bidder/Buyer list

UPDATE 2/7/2011 very little effort is made to censor your comments here. However.... please do not post personal information such as phone numbers and addresses of bad buyers for obvious reasons.
UPDATE 3/23/2011 We must be doing something right! Google adds has suspended our Adds account :) we no longer receive the pitiful little bit of money from clicks. Keep up the good work!
Update 7/20/2013 Wow this blog has been running for over five years and is one of the most popular of it's kind. Ebay has consistently made it more difficult and expensive to sell on their site. We have seen many honest sellers fall to the wayside. Do your best to treat your buyers right. A small percentage will try to game the system. Report thieves to ebay and list their ID's here. Good luck to you all.
